Budget Question
March 9, 2009 on 9:32 pm | In Questions and Comments | 1 CommentHey Tony,
Loved your book. Unlike many other online money making opprotunities the search marketing idea really makes sense to me. I’m glad I’ve read your book and become atleast somewhat knowledgable. Just a quick question for you: I don’t have a lot of money and I only want to join one affilate network and run one affiliate program for now until I see some return (or loss as the case may be) so I know that I am capable of competing in this growing trend. So my question is if I only run one AD on Google Adwords what should my budget be? Of course considering I have a wife, two kids, and a day job that barely makes us ends-meat. I’m all for budgeting this out over 60 days so I’m sure I don’t run out of money or am unable to run my ad for only a few days. I’m just wondering if say a $300 a month budget would be safe for now until I get the results? Any help would be great. Your book was great, a must-read for everyone!!! TY -William Robinson

William,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I am a serial procrastinator these days when it comes to this blog, and for that I apologize.
As for the budget question… its tough. I don’t want to make people overly cautious, but at the same time, when I am handing out advice to so many people, some of you are definitely going to experience the extremes of the spectrum.
The bottom line is… it is possible to lose your entire monthly budget in a single day (it’s rare, but I’ve done it a few times myself, so we are not talking lightning strike rare here), so when you set your budget, you should ask yourself how well you will sleep tonight if your whole monthly budget disappears today?
The answer to that question is the answer to your question.
Tony
