Daily budget

Tony,

I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed your book.  I read it in one sitting and now I am preparing for my first campaign.  I am concerned though about the amount I should set for my daily budget.  I do not have a lot of money to waste.  I see people talking about 20 or 25 dollar daily budgets.  I am thinking more in the line of a 5 dollar a day budget which means I am willing to lose 150 dollars in a month.  Should I wait till I can save up more money or will this be ok to start with?

Thanks,

Tim

  1. Hey, I just recently read the book very quickly as well. But just like you, I don’t have alot of money for a large budget that he talks about in his book. Did you ever get an answer to your question, I don’t have one, but I sure would like to know what you come up with. Also, I am still not quite sure how to correctly set up a campagne myself. Do I need a website or don’t I. Anyway, any ideas that you may have for me will be greatly appreciated. I am really ready to change my financial hole that I am currently in. I truely believe that internet marketing is the way to go.

  2. Tim,

Thanks for buying my book.  I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Budget amounts affect your volume, but not your placement, cost or performance (CTR), so the short answer is, yes, yu can start out with an amount even as low as $5/day.

The devil-in-the-details here is that your volume will be so slow, that it may take as long as a few months to get statistically significant data on which to base your next steps.

If you are very risk-averse – and have the patience – a low budget won’t hurt your chance of success at all. It will just slow things down.

    Tony
