Confusing Performance

June 25, 2008 on 1:31 am | In Questions and Comments | 2 Comments

Tony,

I recently launched my first campaigns and things seem to be progressing well except that the reported clicks on Commission Junction are typically 3 times the reported clicks on Google – for example, I had only 5 clicks reported on Google today and 18 reported on Commission Junction.  Luckily its not the other way around but I’m still confused by the discrepancy.  Do you have any ideas as to what the issue might be?

Thanks for the help.

Best,

T

  1. Google strips out clicks it finds suspect, though I wouldn’t expect that big of an impact.

Maybe some cached search result pages are getting multiple clicks?

I have ads I turned off months ago that still generate clicks. I can only assume it has something to do with cached results, but maybe someone else out there has a better guess???
