Signing up as an Amazon Affiliate

January 22, 2008 on 12:45 am | In Questions and Comments | 5 Comments

Hi,

I have read your book and decided to take your advice on signing up as an Amazon affiliate.  However, the Registration page is a bit different than what is shown in the book.  It wants the name of a web site and the URL which I do not have.  I tried putting in that I was a search marketer but it did not like that.  I also tried leaving it blank and it gave me an error message.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  1. Try putting in http://www.google.com, then explaining you are going to run your ads on Google. I have recently verified they still allow search marketing.

If that doesn’t work, you may need to get a website just to get past the inflexible application (a lot of affiliate networks will force you to take this step eventually anyway). If you don’t own a website, don’t worry. You can get help finding a domain name, hosting a web site, and even get free working webpages on http://www.AffiliateMillions.com if you need to.

  2. Thanks. I think I did that and it didn’t work. I’m thinking about biting the bullet and putting together a website. There seems to be no way around it if you are going to market anything really decent.

    Thanks again.
