Trust Issue
December 19, 2007 on 5:47 pm | In Questions and Comments | 1 CommentHi,
I had an unpleasant thought cross my mind last night and would need some advice and clarification on this. Even though we can see our performance data on CJ, what guarantee do we have that the advertiser will not ‘’screw” us out of commissions? Excuse my expression. But, on the CJ reports, it might indicate that indeed 200 clicks were sent to the website we are promoting, if 75 of those clicks turn out to be actual sales, how can we know this for sure? I’m worried the advertiser can play around with this and say I only made 50 sales…is there a way to track?
Thanks.

Theoretically, a skilled programmer might find a way to fool CJ’s tracking system (perhaps only installing the tracking code on some of their clustered servers). If they do, you certainly won’t know it, but that would be a serious crime and the perp would be risking serious penalties. I’d
If you suspect you are being ripped off, though, (for instance, if you bought something from a company using your affiliate link, saw the click, but never saw the sale) assume the worst and move on to another program.
