eBay UK follows eBay US and disallows direct search for affiliates
December 19, 2007 on 9:17 pm | In Affiliate Marketing News | No CommentsI received the following email from eBay UK yesterday. It seems they will no longer allow direct search for affiliate advertisers.
Dear Affiliate,
The eBay.co.uk team is constantly re-evaluating the affiliate programme and in doing so has decided on a couple of changes detailed below.
New Rules for Paid Search AffiliatesUnfortunately, from 1st February 2008 we will no longer compensate for Paid Search traffic from Google, Yahoo or MSN, if directly linked to an ebay.co.uk page. After this time, any earnings from revenue or ACRUs generated through direct Paid Search will be reversed. This applies to the UK affiliate programme only. For further details click here.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all Paid Search affiliates for the hard work they’ve put in since joining the programme – the eBay UK affiliate team really appreciate your commitment.
But it doesn’t all have to end here! We’d love to keep you on board, so do check out the other business models out there and as an added incentive for you to do so, see the announcement about the pricing increase below. We really want to keep you as part of the eBay team, so if you’d like to discuss your options with us, you can always contact us using the following email address: ukaffiliates@ebay.com

Pricing Increase for eBay.co.uk AffiliatesGood news, early in 2008 we’re increasing the eBay.co.uk affiliate programme pricing to continue to reward and recognise quality traffic & incentivise further growth from our affiliates. We’ll be publishing the new payment structure very soon – do look out for further communication from us.

Merry Christmas and we wish you all the best for 2008,
