Program Selection

October 30, 2007 on 2:20 am | In Questions and Comments | 1 Comment

I been affiliate marketing for about a month now. I have had some limited success. A few of the programs that I am involved with are paying me some commissions, but seem to always be less that what I am spending. On one program, I have made about $180, and have spent $247. My initial clicks were expensive, but with fine tuning, have gotten my average cost down to about .25 per click with a 5% CTR. Another program I have collected about $129 but have spent $291. My cost per click is .58 with a 4.15% CTR. Am I bidding too high? Am I in the wrong programs? My ads seem to have a high click through rate. Another program I have tried, I have had 2000 clicks, with a 5.17% CTR at .12/click , but no sales. I seem to be missing something. Any ideas?

When do you decide to move on?

I have seen some comments on waiting till 300 clicks.. so up upped my per day dollar amount so that I could get 300 clicks in a day.. but.. I have 28,030 impressions and 77 clicks..  and it has been about a week.  Oh.. and I haven’t made any money.  Part of me wants to move on.. but the other part of me says, no… give it a chance..  Should I move on to the next campaign?  I know you answer this a lot.. just one more time.. The product is with ClickBank and I know it shows the minute someone orders.. no delay. Any help is truly appreciated..Thanks!!  Nancy

What countries to display ads to?

October 18, 2007 on 6:41 pm | In Questions and Comments | 2 Comments

I’m starting out with Google and Amazon located in the US.  Adwords asks what countries to display ads to.  Should I select just US or should add more countries.

I do want more impressions, but I am not sure if the other countries is able to buy things from Amazon or if their amazon is different from US amazon, etc.

I don’t want to have to add extra countries with each ad if they don’t bring in commission.

impatience

Hi,

I’m very impatient. How long should I wait before I get results in an ad? I know its depending on the ad. This one is very good, that a whole lot less … But when I take an average of the ads how long will it take?

Thanks in advance!

Newby needs some advise, feedback…

October 14, 2007 on 6:39 pm | In Questions and Comments | 1 Comment

Ok, just started this weekend, have three campaigns rolling. My question is similar to as post on the 10/11.   I am using Adwords, showing that I have had 22,000 impr. and 30 clicks. I don’t see any activity whatsoever on my Commission Junction site. No clicks, sales, leads, impr’s etc. It appears that this data may be delayed for a period of time, maybe even days depending on the affiliate. IS that correct?
I checked my url’s, and they all work, but really don’t know how to validate that they are actually working with my unique identifier for the affiliate and CJ to recognize me. Is there a way to validate that?
Just need some clarifying if you don’t mind.

Clicks but no sales…what to think and how to respond?

October 11, 2007 on 2:40 am | In Questions and Comments | 1 Comment

I just activated my first campaign about 4 days ago. I received a total of 10,700 impressions and 356 clicks, which I thought was a good sign. However, no sales. While I am a little depressed, I understand there will be a learning curve so how and what do I learn from this? What should my next steps be?

Impressions

I read about some needing more impressions. I have had almost 10,000 in about 4 days. My ctr is about .5 with 50 clicks. Should I be concerned or just be patient.
