Much Appreciation & a Few Questions

Hello Tony.

Your book is a breath of fresh air. I’ve spent the last year buying so many products on affiliate marketing, building sites, & seeing no results. I bought Google, Yahoo, etc. ads for my sites, but the performance was disheartening. I even put off purchasing your book for a few weeks after hearing of it – I thought it was more of the same old stuff. I was pleasantly surprised!

Your willingness to share information, and to help your customers via this discussion board, is impressive.  Thank you so very much.

If I may – I do have a few questions.

1 – Is there a way to understand where the untapped markets exist?  For instance, do I perform searches myself and note where not many sponsored ads return?

2 – How can I tell when an ad market is saturated?  Are those the ones with the highest keyword bids?

I apologize in advance if the answers are in the book or on this DB and I’ve missed them.  Thanks again Tony!

  1. Twyla,

Thank you for your compliments. I’m glad you have enjoyed the book and my website.

As for untapped markets, few remain, and of those that do, I suspect not much money is to be made.

As for saturated markets, I would say that thaose are the ones with the most ads, not necessarily the highest initial minimum bids. I see no reason to avoid competitive markets, however, as these are obviously where the money is. Even if your initial results are disappointing, and minimum bids seem prohibitively high, improved ad text can overcome these obstacles.

Don’t feel compelled, by the way, to bid that minimum amount on Google if it seems to high. The minimum bid is more like the ‘minimum to have your ads show regularly’ bid. Even bidding below that amount, Google will occassional test your ads, and if they perform better than expected, your minimum bids may well come down, and your ads will show more often.

    Tony
